Most Asked Questions For The Curious And The First Timers

  • q-iconIs this a paid service?

Yes it is. We’ll talk about this when we know more about your needs, wants and desires for example; how many pets, duration of housesit, any medical requirements, public holidays, peak times, location, etc.

  • q-iconWhat is the shortest housesit you do?

We generally do not take bookings under 10 days. If you do have something between 5-10 days I recommend still reaching out as we may be able to help you. 😉

  • q-iconWhat will you require access to in my home?

    Our primary requirements include:

Unlimited WIFI access; Off street car parking or valid parking permit for the duration of stay; Use of appliances, washing machine, TV, closet space if possible etc

Think of it like a sibling, best friend or cousin is coming to stay. How would you make them feel welcomed and at home. The more comfortable we feel the more we will have a win win win outcome.

  • q-iconWhich locations do you service?

Generally we are available for sits in:

Elwood; Brighton; Sandringham; St Kilda; Albert Park; Middle Park; South Melbourne; Port Melbourne; Windsor; Prahran; South Yarra; Toorak; Richmond; Yarraville; Williamstown; Melbourne CBD; Southbank; West Melbourne; North Melbourne; East Melbourne; Collingwood; Fitzroy, North Fitzroy, Flemmington, Brunswick; Coburg; Malvern

There is also some availability for coastal areas:

Ocean Grove; Torquay; Geelong; Anglesea; Port Arlington; St Leonards

The best thing to do is to get in touch and talk to us about your specific requirements.

  • q-iconDo you have specific protocol?

Elite Petsitting’s primary requirements include the following:

Clear communication so we both know the expectations of each other prior to starting the job.

An opportunity to connect face to face so we can meet, and most importantly meet your much loved animals to ensure we get along! It gives all of us peace of mind when we say YES! This also serves as a walk through of your home, discuss your routine, fur baby idiosyncrasies, feeding times, where the food is kept etc. These will also be highlighted on the notes you will provide to us as well (see below).

Although a thorough walk through is required of your home prior to you going away, we would also appreciate written instructions about your pet/s and house. Primary details include: feeding times, amounts, where the is food stored, your full itinerary etc. We will give you a guideline of what we need to know once an agreement is finalised.

A clean house for us to come into as we guarantee to have it sparkling when we leave.

    Unlimited access to WIFI

If we are all happy, we could agree on the spot or it may take a couple of days. From there we will arrange for key collection and return.

  • q-iconWhat else should I know?

There’s not much we won’t do but there are a few things you should know.

We don’t generally sleep with your pets

We won’t be in contact daily. We believe that by you having made the right decision to engage us in the first place this will give you the peace of mind necessary so you can be 100% present for the adventure you are on. Of course you will miss your fur baby, that is totally understandable and expected. So if you reach out to us on occasion whilst you are away we will reply with a love message as soon as we can.

We expect your furry family member/s to be trained enough to not risk danger to us or anyone else.

Although we can be available a lot we recommend you treat your fur baby if it has severe separation anxiety.

We work with big hearted, chilled out professionals who love their home, love their furry family and love life. Doting, loved up parents who care so much about the wellbeing of their pets YES. Neurotic and high maintenance NO. This is a trust engagement. We have to trust you as much as you have to trust us.

We will generally come around for one visit prior to you leaving to meet your furry family. If the job is accepted we will then make another arrangement to collect the keys.

We generally prefer to have left before you arrive home so your keys will either be left inside or in a pre-designated location.

The elephant in the room. Things happen to animals all the time and although we do not want anything to happen on our watch we must be realistic – it could. Even following your instructions to the letter, something could still happen. So we will discuss this when we meet.
